I have a supposed to be rooster that I am really not sure of that started out reddish brown and is not nearly all silver or blue. The legs are slate or blue colored. At first I thought he/she was an EE but the legs are really not green.

Here he is at the bottom of the picture with the white chick. I will try to get a better picture of him and post it. He is a week older now and more blue.

Ok here are some newer pictures. sure hope someone can tell me what the breed is. My sister in law bought a bunch of roosters from the feed store here. I think they get them from MM but not sure. they cost 20 cents each. LOL She let me pick one in case my EE rooster didn't make it. Well, he did. And out of the 26 hen chicks I have at least two more roosters. LOL I don't think I need him but his comb isn't turning red but he is acting a little rooish. The gold lace Wyendotte has a comb like Rodolph's nose. LOL

I've raised out some crosses that looked like that but they were blue orp roosters/buff orp hens or buff orp rooster/blue orp hens...never saw a pure chick look like that...it is pretty and they make lovely eye candy for a backyard flock...my thoughts...

Thanks guys! I have raised chickens for years and never seen one like it. It is strange to get crosses from this place that sells chickens all the time and they are very good at keeping the breeds straight. It is a feed and poultry store. They hatch some of them and the bring some in from another breeder. I thought it was MM.

I dunno... I have blue/buff orp crosses and the body shape seems different to me. Yours has longer wings and a slimmer build... not very orpy (to me). How old is it?

Mine are about 7 weeks old and here is a recent picture of them. Even the face shape seems different. I am not a chicken expert by any means though..

They are about 4 weeks + a couple of days. He was all choc. with a little blue on the wing area when I got him. He was the only one of the group like that so I took him. LOL I always like the odd bird.

His feathering is pretty tight right now. and I don't think his legs are as blue as yours are. I just hate not knowing. I know he is pretty. Problem is I think I am having two more turn into roos. that will make 5 for me and I don't need that many. It is going to be hard to decide who has to go. My little Flame EE is going to stay. But I have a Gold Laced Wyendotte and a Brown leghorn or Wellsummer and maybe a white leghorn. I can do without the white leghorn but the others are hard to pick from.

I`m gonna take a guess on the breed, it looks just like my blue andalusians I have, they are about 6 weeks old now and pretty much looked like that one. good luck. Tony

Menkot, the bird in the second picture is really pretty cool looking. How it goes from blue to blue buffish to a black head.

Just wanted to comment.

I had EEs earlier this year, the EE are not neccesarily 'pure' so it could be an EE whether legs are green or not. I hatched out an EE that was the same chocolatey brown color, but it either died or changed to a different color. *shrug* I had so many it was crazy.
