Does anyone know the breed standard for Mottled Houdans & Orpingtons

well I dont know about Houdans but I think Moe has nicer wings.

And if you teach Hercules how to hold his tail then I think he would be good too for the fair. Just stand him everyday and pet behind his fluff in back till he keeps his tail up. Then give him treats. And get them used to being touched and handled.

A week or so before the fair you need to get them used to being in a cage. Put them in one for a little while each day.

We are new to Houdans also but do have a pullet and took her to our Fair and the judge loved her spotted legs, he also checked to make sure she had a v-shaped comb and said she was a very nice bird but needed more white. I see that your bird looks alot like her with more blk than white along his back. The judge did like her enough to put her Reserve Champion though, so don't know how much he took off for coloring. He made the comment that they need to have blk spots on feet, the extra toe, be uniformly colored in blk/white, and have a v-shaped comb. Hope this helps.

I need to get a pic of Larry, he really holds his tail feathers up and to me is just prettier.
I am still questioning whether Hercules is a Roo or Hen....LOL
He is older than the houdans, my Lakenvelders and Silver Phoenix and he is not even trying to crow yet. The Houdans and Lakenvelder are all crowing as is Uno, my bantam Cochin.
I planned to take the "Stooges" with me anyway as I want to sell them.
I appreciate the feedback and will try to post a pic of Larry later.
