Interesting!! Unfortunately, I only have one duck, she is spoiled, very nosy, and bugs me to death. She also quacks at people as they walk down the alley. She would lay at least one egg a day last year. There were at least three days last year that she actually layed two. Her name is Squeaky, and I am raising her as a pet, and not for farming or eating. If I had more room I would get more ducks.

Aw, maybe just one or two more? Three don't take up any more room than one. Not much anyway! I've got for on my little property.

That's what I had to do, I got a rescue Khaki as a surprise a week after I started raising chickens. She was all alone and became my baby, but when I had to leave her sight she flipped. Finally she became such a problem that we got a Buff duckling and raised her in a see-through cage next to the Khaki's pen, and now they are great buddies who stay quite most of the day.

Getting one more duck will definitely be good for your pretty little duck... If you get another female they will keep each other company and they will stay quieter. Two ducks even in an apartment shouldn't be to hard to handle, i have four ducks in a townhouse who never like to go outside. lol... When i stayed in Chicago, i kept two Runner ducks in a small 3rd floor apartment. lol. It was def. do-able

also, since you keep your duck inside, do you use diaper harnesses? If not, you should invest in one! they are carpet savers! It's a little suit the duck wears and you put like half of a baby diaper in it to collect the poop. You can get one here:

Hi nettie, I will definitely check into the diaper harness. Perhaps with the diaper harness she can sit on my bed and help/watch me do my homework.

Is there anything special that I should know about caring for the Khaki Campbell duck species?
