Does anyone know what breed this is?

Not familiar with Every OE/game bantam but look's to be a mix of some sort to me.It's not a silver duckwing as they are darker colored on the hen's.But it's a nice looking bird all around. Congrat's on her. DG

thanks chillin'!

I am now dealing with coccidiosis....

I think I have a chance to beat it if I can get to the feed store early tomorrow to get some corid or sulmet

yay! I thwarted the coccidiosus using CORID.

Our littlest chicken turned out to be a rooster...

He started crowing about 4 days ago.....yes, he is noisy and very proud. The girls will have nothingof his advances although they do seem to default to someof his presumed authority.

He so scrawny when we got him, with no tail feathers, it would hav been impossible to tell he might have been a rooster. Now her has a long tail and has that neck up strut which sets him apart from the hens

Henny Penny (our first)

has started laying. Her first egg was on Mother's Day.

they are rather small, so that seems to be in keeping with comments of her being a bantam game hen

We now have a total of 6 eggs, actually, they were delicious.....

I have expanded the run with a human height add on to let the girls have more freedom and to save our backs.

fun!

Wow, she has gotten beautiful! So do you get to keep the little cockerel? I'm really glad you kept her, and have joined in the chicken craziness with the rest of us...

We are on the fence about the little guy. He is such a good tempered little bantam (so far), it is hard to think of sending him off to an un-known fate.... just don't know what to do. We really do not want a rooster, and we really do not want to send him away.

I guess that is the tough part of chicken raising.

Thanks for the compliment on Henny Penny. She looks like the classic shape of those ceramic chickens to me.
