Does anyone know where to buy "duck booties"?

I ordered mine as I want to use them before showing. After I wash the duck he will have his shoes put on to keep his feet clean until he is penned the following day.
Also some people use them to prevent bumblefoot or when ducks get foot problems walking on the snow.

And I guess also just coz they look way too cute.

Once a duck gets bumblefoot, it's very easy to get it again in the same spot. Our vet told us that the area tends to remain slightly swollen so that puts more pressure on that spot. The shoes give a little bit of padding to prevent cuts and keep bacteria off the foot.

When one of our ducks has a cut on its foot, we'll bandage it and use the shoes to help keep the bandages on and moisture out until the foot heals.

We also take our ducks for walks. We live in the city so that means lots of cement and hot asphalt which is bad for their feet. The shoes protects them from abrasions from the concrete and burns from the asphalt.

I'm glad you like it. That took many attempts to get it halfway decent.

You know that saying, "getting all your ducks in a row"? For me it used to mean preparing everything carefully. Now it means an extremely difficult and maddening task that I wouldn't wish upon an enemy.

Hah, you think that's bad?? Take a look at this! I wish my duck's feet looked like yours. I ordered a pair from her, they should be here in a few days.

oh that poor baby! I'm shipping everything in my pile off tomorrow morning! We got a little behind thanks to Moxy's vet mishap, but I'm just about caught up! I worry her feet might be too swollen, so before I ship them off to you, I'm going to add another pair for her (as a get well present) that's meant for a muscovy (which are bigger) just in case they are too tight at first... then she can move down to the regular size!

What all are you doing for her feet? I see you guys were washing them, are you putting anything on them?

Oh, Thanks! That is so sweet of you. I know she will appreciate it. She is the worst case, all 10 of them have it, but not quite so bad. We are going to buy some astroturf to put on the pen floor to prevent this from happening again. I was washing their feet in warm water w/Betadine, drying them & applying neosporin. It is caused by a bacteria called Staph Aureous, so now I am using a new gel called "StaphAseptic". It is meant for Staph infections. I had to do a little surgery on the 3 worst ones, but they are healing up fine. I also gave them Baytril (orally) and Cephalexin capsules for 7 days (after the Penicillin injections failed). I have been bandaging some of their feet after treating to keep them clean, and to keep them dry I used ***get this*** condoms!
