Does anyone know??

The first pic looks like a rooster, the second picture looks like a hen. Note the hackles and sickles on the first one and the lack of them on the second. A closer up picture would show more details on gender.

Take a look at the last picture here on this page:

This is a pic of Aaron, my EE roo I had to find a new home for. To me, they look so similar. I have a friend with a rooster who always "steals" the eggs and sits on them....even takes care of baby chicks. could this be the case with your little one, perhaps? So he/she isn't crowing? (I guess not if you think she is a she...LOL)? Aaron crowed very early and very well. I really miss the little guy but he was just too mean to the other chickies.

Nope, Morgana is not crowing, not even trying. She is very sweet to the others, and the little roo that took over my flock chases her when she roams too far, and she listens to him. I assume she is a she, if she is a boy, it's not very boy-like!!!

I agree with others that looks like a rooster. Still very young, not too surprised there's been no crowing or breeding attempts yet, if it does turn out to be a rooster. Just because a bird was in the nest doesn't automatically mean IT laid that very egg. Could be just sitting in there or was taking refuge from the banty roo.

It's an EE. The reason you didn't find one that matched is because EE often are deliberately mixed very freely as to color or even breeds. So there are going to be EEs that don't exactly match colors or even appearence to anything. Most EE have a beard and a pea comb.. and it has both.

All three pictured in this thread are on silver and columbian base, only the second one happens to have extra genes that clean up the white on body, the other two lack it so the pattern is more varied. It's a result of random breeding & crossing.

An example of clean silver with columbian pattern are light brahmas.
