Does anyone own a hog nose snake?

I've never had a hoggie, but I love them, they're one of my favorite snakes. I *think* my husband had one at some point. I got to see a beautiful female at a local store a few months back; very sedate and easily handled.
I have never been fortunate enough to stumble across one outside.

Hoggies are cool

I looked into them I was getting my first snake but they were too expensive for me and I was worried about getting one to feed. There are also laws about keeping them in many states. Babies are the ones that can be tough to get feeding....they don't instinctually recognize rodents as food, so babies generally need scented rodents or actual toads to get started. Once they are on mice they're fine though. They're cute snakes...and I had wanted them at one point, but I don't think I do anymore.......I will stick with borneo/blood pythons and my little ribbon snake....maybe balls...maybe a vine snake....hopefully a tree boa or python at some point......................

I don't have a hoggie but I do have a beauthful red tail boa I need to rehome soon ,I have sence deveoplterd a deep hated for all snake and want him gone in anyone is intrested seeling very cheep and will ship him just to get him gone

OMG SO EXCITING *bounces* you'll have to post pics as soon as she lays eggs, and of course take a load of pics for us when they start to pip! Aww baby snakes, it's so exciting! I'm thinking about getting a pair of hognoses so that I can breed them eventually, that'd be a ton of fun, and they take up less room than corns.

LOL, you know Im going to take as many photos as possible! Im afraid she's going to lay them this coming weekend when we're camping though!

Oh sweet, get some het. for Albino! LOL. Albino hoggies are amazing. They definitely take up less space, but I'd rather have larger snakes.

I love their silly upturned noses though! They look both snobby, and dorky at the same time!

Aww tell that girl she better not, or no mice for her (lie, of course)

Oh Jordan, did you brumate your breeders? I'm guessing not since I've heard you don't really need to with corns because they breed well either way. But Everything I've read for hognoses says they need to brumate (or at least should) but I have no idea where I'm going to put them that they can be in 55 degree temperatures for two months! My house is like 70 degrees year long, none of my friends houses get THAT cold, so I dunno what to do! The only thing i can figure is get one of those little snack fridges, set it to 50 and somehow drill a hole in it somewhere for airflow. LOL

LOL, I love their noses! No worries, she's being a little brat and hasn't laid yet!

I actually did brumate mine, only because I had no heating element for my 2 adults, haha. I kept them in my snake rack before I got my heat because my room is colder than the flippin arctic in the winter. I'm going to be putting them in the cellar this year though. I've heard about people putting them in the fridge so you should be fine doing that, haha. Now I want a hoggie! LOL!
