Not a bother at all...the way I make a recapture trap is either HC, welded wire, chicken wire, really doesn't matter about the kind of wire as long as they can't pass through the mesh. A rectangle shaped trap works best but I have also used a hurriedly made chicken wire trap that was round, instead of square. A funnel is the best way to make the entrance. Either round or square but round works best. I make the trap 1' wide, 1' high and 3' long. The funnel at one end. If using chicken wire you'll want to make it a little bigger, about 2' x 2' x 4'. Their kinda like a minnow trap but bigger and only 1 funnel.
Someone else asked about this about a year ago, I provided a hand drawn diagram of the trap. You might be able to do a search and find that thread...sorry I can't remember what forum or thread it was on.
