Does anyone sell silkies in my area?

I agree, looks like a PQ buff silkie (or what Ideal would sell as a "red")

Ok, So now you all need to tell me the difference of a "pet quality" silkie and a "real" Silkie???

I did get my chicks from MPC...
The funny other thing is I also ordered from them a Antwerp Belgium Bantam... and when I showed her in the "What Breed is This?" I finally could see she was a Mille and not an Antwerp.

So how could they give me 2 chicks that I didn't order (but love)????

Does it ave 5 toes..becaus ei cant tell..? It might be a cross and turn out to be buff, or partridge.

Difference between pet and show quality is just how well it matches up with the APA Standard of Perfection.... if you are in the US that is. "Show quality" can also be some what determined by trends in the breeding too, as some like HUGE crests and HUGE leg feathers, while I prefer the modest crest and lighter leg feathering. However, I don't raise show quality.

Unless you are showing, doesn't really matter what they look like per se, as you can still keep them as great pets.

So in short, a pet quality silkie IS a real silkie, just as much as a show quality or breeer quality silkie is still a real silkie. It just doesn't fit with the breed standards.

well its definetely a bantam. Wait a little while for the 5th toe its really small so it takes a little while to sprout

Trust me, they are either born with a 5th toe or not, they don't sprout. Theoretically, in the US, there are only bantam silkies too.

This day old clearly has a fifth toe:
