I wanted to learn German, but all our high school offered was Spanish and French. I figured with all the immigration, Espanol was my better option.

The only German sentence I know is Ich Lebe Dich? And I probably spelled it wrong. My great uncle was direct from Holland and I guess it's I love you?

Yes, BYC is amazing, but trust me, my chickens are bi-lingual or even better tri-lingual. I speak German and English to them (and they talk Chickenish...).

OK, seriously, I am German, so let me know how I can help with your essay.

Gute Nacht, Freunde

My German skills a mostly oral, learned as an exchange student. I can still read enough German to follow directions in a cookbook. Unfortunately most of the German I remember is dialect as in

I ka Schwabish schwetsa.

It is " Ich liebe Dich" and if you really want to suck up you add "Schatzibutzi" sha-tsee-boo-tsee. My DH always says it when he knows he did wrong
You wrote " I live you" Dutch and german are not too far apart. I can read dutch but cant speak it. On top i also understand and sort of speak pennsylvania dutch.

Gruss Gott, Granolamom, I love Stuttgart. It is one of my favorite cities anywhere. I hope that I can take my children there in the next couple of years.

I hated German class after my nasty German teacher hinted what my maiden name could be translated to.
