Does anyone still have a landline?

We do, but use only for local. Cell for long distance and most use.
The telemarketers are starting to call the cell now....AAARGH!

ETA: Got a new cell number about a year ago and it evidently used to belong to a real deadbeat who ditched it to hide his trail. Get a lot of calls for him, either debt stuff, legal-sounding things, etc., most recently one that sounded like he was being called up for the Nat. Guard and had not checked in or something.

I have one too, and we each have a cell phone too.
When the cell phone package for unlimited minutes & unlimited long distance appears (maybe I should go check again on that) THEN I will ditch the home phone.

Until then... I can't afford to ditch the home phone w/free long distance (ancient package offered briefly once upon a time years ago and they wish I would change it

but NO WAY!! finally I get the jump on them!!)

But i do hate the extra expense... we pay around $150/month for phones and we don't really use them that often. PLUS I pay $80/month for satellite internet (which I need for work).. so that's a fortune really just for communications each month.

Cells don't work where I live. If I sat on the roof, I may get signal. So, I'm stuck with the landline until they (if ever) build a tower closer to me.

We have a landline. I only get cell reception on the northwest 1 foot square corner of the concrete slab in front of the shop. Either that or stand out on the highway.

To me cell phones are to expensive. My DH ran our last cell up to $1500 in two months, before I had it shut off. I have a land line. And I pay one price and can call all I want to where ever in the U.S. I want to call.. And I have our internet through the phone company too. All for the price of $90.. And we cant go over minutes, because there is no limit.. LOl

Any way. Every where I go around here to get a cell phone. They ask for a land line phone number and if you dont have one they wont let you get the cell. So I would have to keep the land line in order to get the cell. I think this town is stupid that way..

Now how do you think i get on BYC!!!....yep that's right!! dial up....YEAH ME

....no one offers it this far out of town!!! oh wait...the town is across the street from me but the don't offer it nor cable.....as for a cell phone... i have one....some where around here!! haven't use it in a while:old

Yup, we have one. We have a deal through AT&T for our cell phone service and landline; we use the cell phones for long distance calls. We used to get DSL though them, too, until we moved out to the country and had to get satellite internet service.
