Does anyone that lives near Charlotte, NC have any chicks for sale? My 7yr old son was devastated when my fathers dog killed his polish chicken. Then something unknown got to another one a few weeks later, but was only able to manage to get its head and legs off under the little space at the bottom of the chicken run. The next morning he went out to play with the chickens and there was only a half of chicken left. Then place in Matthews where we buy our chicks isn't getting anymore until spring. We need docile, friendly birds that make good pets and egg layers. We can't have roosters though.

This may not be good information for you but I wanted you to be aware of it. I live in Greenville NC about 4 hours from you, at our Flea Market in Washington NC they sell chicken and chicks there. I never have bought any from there due to I wanted some this winter so they will be laying by the summer. You can try one of your local flea markets.
