to store their eggs in while waiting to set in a 'bator?

I have an extra that I do not use in my 1588 since I now use it as a hatcher so I have been using the turner just to store the eggs and tip them for me every day.

I thought it was a good idea. What say you?

I believe kathyinmo does. I thought about it, but then thought. . . That's all the more electric bill add-ons.

I just turn mine myself.

That's why I use one. I forget if I have tipped the carton already so I figure this is 10 times easier than trying to mark yet another piece of paper and goodness knows my life is way to busy to remember it! I would be using it in the 'bator if I needed it and these tiny motors take less than a penny a day to run.

I think this is a good idea. Where do you store the turner full of eggs before you put them in the incubator? I can't imagine a good safe place (safe from dogs, kids and clumsy adults) so I could use some ideas!

I just have mine sitting on top of an old dresser. I have a 4 yr old, 2 yr old and newborn! My kids know by now not to touch momma's eggs! Just kidding! They are so used to me messing with eggs and incubators that they don't even pay attention to them anymore.

I have a buffet table in the dining room that I have it on.
I tried to remember every day to tip the cartons from one end to the other but it got to be a hassle just remembering if I had done it or not. I would find myself getting back out of bed and checking if the blue end or red end was up. I colored it blue for night and red for day so I could remember that, then I was worrying if I had even done it that day as I got so terribly busy.
When I stated using my Genesis 1588 as the hatcher only I could not find a drawer to store the turner in so I set it there, then started putting eggs in it, then realized I could turn it on and let IT do the work!
Cool beans, baby!

I use a LG egg turner in the wifes laundry room because that is the coolest room. I work and travel so this way I know they get turned. It holds 42 eggs and also holds my turkey eggs well. Then they go into the GQF or Dickey's.

Yes Nadine, that's exactly what I do, in fact even for the hatching eggs I sell, it gets them from getting stuck and a much better chance at life and do so in a 55 degree F environment!
