Does anyone work from home?

Thanks everyone!! Keep the ideas coming. I love hearing about everyone's ingenuity. I love the idea of proofreading and medical transcribing. They are right up my alley.

Me too, I've been reading up on the medical transcribing, but the online companies I found sound like rip-offs. The proof-reading I could definitely go for too!! Thanks for starting this thread!!!

I'm an at home mom and work from home as well. I work for a brand new telemarketing company called Zurvita. It's exciting and exploding all over the US right now! I sell memberships to a club that members enjoy many benefits from discounts at all their favorite online shopping stores, to restaurants discounts, to movie ticket discounts, and free financial planning advise as well as a free personal assistant that also includes unlimited 411 calling! All for just $20 a month! The company is so new that they haven't offered all the benefits as of yet, but by the end of summer they will offer other membership plans to include affordable healthcare benefits, legal representation, and computer technical support!

If anyone is interested in becoming a sales rep, just email me and I will be glad to tell you all you need to know!

I wish I did!! My dogs would be so happy...and I'd never have to iron again! lol I guess I'd miss my students, though. After all, someone has to teach them...and they are my babies, even if they drive me crazy sometimes! However, proofreading and editing...hmmmm....I already get paid for doing that, why not get paid for it at home??

I work for a fortune 100 company doing remote operations support from home. this is a dream job. i stay VERY busy and my team works 24/7/365, but the pay and benefits are excellent and I look out at my horses and chickens every day from the office window.

computer skills are a must! for every job, but even more so if you have any desire to work from home.

its not for everyone, you have to be able to turn off the distractions to be successful

most days I am very good at that!

I'm a distributor for Scent-Sations. We offer all- natural wax candles and soy based bath products.
I'm just getting started in this, but I'm making some profit.

You can check out the products by going to my site and clicking on the shop online tab.

I also sell chickens and eggs. We live in a great location for this, so I don't have to leave home, I just open the front gate and go about my chores.
We also set up at First Monday Trades Day in Canton, TX, and sell chickens, eggs, my candles, homemade soap and have a good time talking to everyone from several surrounding states.

I really would like to earn some money working on my computer, though. All of the above money goes back into more chickens and feed...and more feed...etc.
I looked into a mail transcript school, but I don't have the extra $1200.00 to do it, and I don't know if it would be profitable around here.

I quit working to stay at home and take care of the animals. I was at my last job for 14 years. I loved my job, but the new senior management and me didn't work well together. It figures...4 months after I left, the new Distribution Manager quit, he couldn't take the pressure!
Oh well, water under the bridge. I don't have much stress anymore, but I'm not using my brain much either. The chickens don't really care how smart I am!! I am just their food slave!

To those interested in the medical transcription jobs, just a quick note of caution.

While I've never worked in health care, I've noticed that several of the Dr.s I've been to in the last few years have gone to "tablet" computers, so there is no need for transcription services. I'd advise doing a little market research in your area before taking the class. Unless, it's something you could do on a national type thing.
