Does bird color relate to egg laying?

One thing you can do is get a golden laced roo and silver laced hens and breed them together and you would get Sexlinked Wyandottes with the females being pure golden laced and the males will look more like Silver laced but have some gold coming through.

And so maybe the Golden laced pullets you hatch, being bred from Silver laced hens, may be better layers than golden laced from gold to gole breedings.

That is a clever idea! But I live in the middle of the city with a small backyard flock and roosters aren't allowed in the city. Maybe one day if I ever leave and move out to the country I could do that.
