Just preparing for fair here and I want to understand this subject.

Whenever I look it up, it always talks about yellow-skinned chickens. Does bleaching happen to chickens with other skin colors too?

Could anybody explain this process to me a bit more? There isn't much out there about it that I can find.

And is this the correct order? Vent, eye ring, earlobe, beak, bottom of foot, entire shank, hock and tops of toes.

Thanks everyone!

I've only seen it in Yellow skinned birds.

It's because their skin contains the same pigment for egg yolks, & it gets used up over time, leaving the hens to have white skin.

This makes so much more sense now! It explains why, which is really important to me. Thank you so much!
