No, chipmunk stripes don't determine sex with Rhode Island Reds.

To me, your chick doesn't really look like a Rhode Island Red, as I have never seen one with such a well defined stripe and head markings. Where did you get it from?

I got it from a lumber supply store which orders them from a hatchery.

I agree. You have some other breed there besides RIR.

Did you ever determine what breed this is? I have one so similar and sooo defines with markings and different from my other three RIR I’m searching all over for answers
