I have a huge patch of white clover that I need to thin out tomorrow. The stems are at least 12" long. Can I give my girls the clover as is or do I need to chop it up? Thanks
Chop it unless they can eat it while it is still growing. Stuff that long can form a twisted ball that gets stuck in their crop. That can be a life-threatening situation. Look up impacted crop.
If they eat it while it is growing they’ll break it off in manageable sized chunks. But if it is loose they’ll have to eat a whole strand.
