Does CORN make goslings FAT?

I was not aware that the corn was cooked for that process. But the caloric content is still representative. If they eat a lot of corn, they can get fatter than they need to be.

Cracked corn or whole corn - some people feed whole corn to their geese..... I feed cracked and they scoop it up.

The concern is that the corn makes them "HOT" and gain weight and that in 100-110 degree temperature CORN is probably not something I should be feeding them.

What can I get at the feed store - you said "ROLLED OATS"? Is that like oatmeal we eat or is it something specific. The feed stores here carry cracked corn, rolled oats, all-stock and stuff like "sweet feed" and things like:

CRIMPED OATS
STEAMED CRIMPED OATS
CRACKED CORN
WHOLE CORN
RICE BRAN PELLETS
STEAMED CRIMPED BARLEY
WHEAT MIDDLINGS
SWEET FEED
ALL-STOCK - MOLASSAS IN IT

Stuff like that. Everyone says they feed their geese CORN mostly but I guess you can if it's not too much huh and it makes them FAT or HOT??

I buy regular oatmeal at sams club and mix it in with their 50lb bag of feed. I need to check our feed store to see what they have, probably cheaper than sams.

Yes too much corn is fattening.
Waterfowl store fat around their reproductive organs which can lead to fertility problems.
Even too many sunflower seeds could be a problem since fat is fat
(calories are calories) whether its saturated or polyunsaturated.
Waterfowl should be on a holding diet during the non breeding season.
Grain should be limited especially if you have grass for them to eat.
If you have enough lush grass they don't need hardly any grain after the breeding season and thru fall.
A little bit of corn is OK in the winter but think of it as a treat not a regular part of their diet.
Corn is the main ingredient in most commercial feeds so keep that in mind too.
I don't feed my geese any corn and somehow they managed to stay alive through freezing Michigan winters.

Yes, "rolled" or "steam rolled" oats is oatmeal but the kind used for animal feed.
It's a bit bigger and tougher than people oatmeal.
I use people oatmeal for baby goslings which I get in bulk from my food co-op.
TSC, feed mills and other farm supply stores usually carry or can special order rolled oats.

So just plain old PLAIN QUAKER OATMEAL is good for them?

Just put it in a pan, dry? Does it bloat in their stomach like rice or anything weird?

All carbohydrates have a higher specific dynamic affect (SDA) which is the amount of energy (converted to heat) during digestion. Oats, wheat, and barley will have similar values.
