I have a terrible infestation of red fowl mites and I sprayed the coop top to bottom yesterday (2x in one day) . The hens were treated as well. I looked this morning and the bugs are still running around bright red and full of blood 😫 I lost a hen to it so I really need to get them under control stat. I know it takes a couple of treatments but I don’t really see a difference.

I mixed 9ml to 1 gallon of water.

Mites are terribly adept at hiding deep inside crevices. Careful and forceful spraying deep into cracks and into all places where materials are joined is necessary to reach the mites in hiding. Expect the operation to be labor intensive.

The solution is light sensitive and must be used immediately or it loses effectiveness.

I've found that Elector works very well with only one application when done properly.

I’m not really seeing anything and I applied it first thing in the morning and drenched the coop as well as shut it so it was not in sunlight. The coop is small so I was able to do a good job. I’m just wondering how quickly it works because even the mites swimming in the stuff didn’t die 🤷‍♀️🤔

It should start working in half an hour and you should expect a full kill in four hours. It continues to work via residual action for a couple of weeks.

Your proportions seem okay. Perhaps the solution wasn't agitated and mixed thoroughly. I assume you're using the concentrate and not a pre-mix preparation.

I think it’s an old bottle or wasn’t stored right since I purchased it from a fellow chicken lover. I’m getting new stuff in the mail and hopefully it’ll be better. Thanks for the insight!
