Well now... that is a tricky path for sure if you aren't backing things up with Scripture. Lots and lots of people SWEAR they heard God tell them to do something when I would seriously doubt that He did. David Koresh, Warren Jeffs and Jim Jones come to mind. What they all said God wanted them to do is in direct violation with Scripture.
But... this is somewhat off topic. Feel free to believe as you like.

I DO use Scripture also to back me up, of course, but we don't need to start a religion battle. I like this thread, and hearing what other people have to say.

The bible is FULL of verses that speak of God's love for us. The OP asked the question Does God care if are happy? He cares if we are JOYFUL IN HIM, not if we are pleased with our lives that we set up for ourselves. He did not give us riches in monetary amounts, He gives us riches in joy and His love.

The fact is that the most faithful people tend to be prosperous, because they are joyful in Him and He keeps all promises He makes, which is to offer bountiful blessings to His faithful.

He also promises to receive tenfold the kindnesses you do for others IN HIS NAME.
