Today I found a groundhog who dug the hell out of a hole next to my garage building, ( far from the chicken coop) but I got real worry about that.
So what do you guys think, is groundhog a bad dude or is he OK?
Shall I get red of him? I think he might make tunnels undernieth my building and that is not cool.

I thought Groundhogs are herbivors only?

Hmm.. well for digging the holes alone it be worth it to get rid of it. Pick a method

I dont think he'll bother them. But i'm not sure. They only eat plants..so if you have a garden, i'd get rid of him.

He won't hurt the chickens.

You might want to try one or more of the many groundhog repellents out there (google and they'll pop up) - these apparently include castor oil and mint. I just found a hole near my foundation - have no idea from whom, but went and bought some castor oil to try (you put the repellent in the tunnel/holes they have dug...).

Omran, he'll dig tunnels and eat up the wood like previously noted.

the tunnels will cause the ground to cave in and the person walking on them to fall down. ask me how i know.

and the holes will allow your chickens to fall into dark spaces. ask me how i know that too.

he wont eat Boo Boo, aka The King either though.

Ground Hogs are EVIL creatures and will eat a garden and look right at you while doing it too!

If he's digging near your garage, that's reason enough to get rid of him. My mother had a woodchuck take up residence under a large set of concrete stairs leading to one of her doors. It dug such an extensive hole/burrow that it undermined the steps and they canted away from the house leaving a dangerously large gap, which required a very expensive fix. Woodchucks/ground hogs are a nuisance until they undermine one of your buildings or cause a broken ankle with their holes. They also breed rapidly and you end of having a ton of them in no time.

He won't harm your chickens or try to kill them but he may find his way to where you store your feeds and feeders and eat to his hearts content!
