does Groundhog bother chickens?

Glad I saw this...I witnessed a Groundhog attack and KILL yes I did say KILL a chipmunk right in front of me.

Chipmunk was coming in the back porch to help himself to Obelisk's food dish and the Groundhog came from under the porch and grabbed him and started slinging him around...it was the scariest thing I've seen in a long time.

I screamed and got them separated and groundhog went out. Chipmunk made it down the stairs before collapsing. The groundhog basically tore him apart. I could see chipmunk's ribs and skull.

By the time I got a towel to wrap chipmunk in to take to the wildlife centre, he had expired.

From Wiki:
Mostly herbivorous, groundhogs primarily eat wild grasses and other vegetation, and berries and agricultural crops when available.[3] Groundhogs also eat grubs, grasshoppers, insects, snails and other small animals, but are not as omnivorous as many other sciurids.

Groundhogs are generally agonistic and territorial among their own species.

however, their aggressive nature can pose problems.

Doesn't want to sleep out back anymore because she's afraid and I don't blame her...she saw the attack too.

the awesome news: Herons eat baby ground hogs! we have TONS of Herons. they scoop up the babies. we cheer! go Herons! eat! feast!

ground hogs are the scourge of the earth. Omran! chase it away or make it go bye bye or something. ack.
