Thanks, cnp
Hi there, hope you are enjoying BYC! :frow

Bacteria get such a bad rap.. when that's what's keeping you alive right NOW! ;)

Some bacteria are killed at high temperatures and Salmonella is one of them. Keep in mind that for an egg to have salmonella the chickens must also be carrying it... Mine are not, a previous salmonella outbreak IS the reason I keep my own birds now.

Here are a few links regarding boiled eggs and bacteria you are concerned with..

Don't be fear mongered into not enjoying eggs the way you like them. But do continue to educate yourself and make the choice that's right for YOU. :)

100% safety of course depends on many things including a persons allergies, possible choking, etc.. sorry, being in California.. where folks are lawsuit happy and judges more often than not award their BS claim, it's like full disclosure is built into my thought process!

Come to find out you can even eat pink (not raw) pork now!

Also, folks dogs eat raw chicken diets all the time without facing Salmonella.. The chickens I harvest here smell fresh in the fridge with NO stink or slime for more than 14 days! Knowledge is power!
