The chicks I'm going to get are from a RIR roo and a delaware hen will they have a name or just be muts? Also a friend of mine told me that hens will produce twice as many eggs if I get 1 rooster, is there any truth to that. Thanks.

They will be mutts. Not necessarily a bad thing! Many here will argue that mutts are more vigorous.

No evidence that the presence of a roo will give more eggs that I know of, although hens do often seem more content with a roo.

by the way... great name.

Most of our pullets/hens are laying every single day - some haven't missed a day since they started 2 months ago. We don't have a rooster and there's no way our egg production could double (or be any higher) if we did have a roo.
