Does layer feed make your chickens lay more eggs

Layer merely provides a feed that also has the calcium supplement ground right in. That's absolutely it.

Layer is very popular, but a high quality Raiser or Grower, with calcium supplemented on the side will perform just as well, and sometimes better.

You can use egg shells and/or oyster shells to supplement the calcium in the layer feed and even if you don't have high quality feed you can use hard boiled eggs or scrambled eggs to up the protein in their diet. If you raise meal worms those help too.
