Does leaving a light on through the nightime hours lead to a lack of egg production?

Hi I was wondering if anyone know if lighting will lead to a lack of egg produciton in ducks? I have not been getting the amount of eggs that I used to get. I leave a light on for my 24/7 free range ducks and the amount of eggs I used to get every day has dropped to only 0-1 a day. We leave the light on to try and detour the preditors, thinking they would be more safe at night. Are we way off base? and do ducks stop laying eggs even if they laid one the few says prior to not getting anymore from her?
If anyone has any information re: this subject please respond to this thread. I appreciate any advice that anyone if willing to offer me.
Thanks, Tina

. No it's the other way around. Adding light should increase egg production. However, remember every living thing needs a break once in awhile. Laying can be very stressful on a bird's body.

most put lights on timers to have them come on an hour before the sun rises and turn off an hour after the sun sets. never on all night as that doesnt give them a time of rest. They will also stop laying while molting and that you just have to wait out until they are done.
