Hello.. I'm new to taking care of chickens.. So I'll ask a lot of questions.. Anyways Here's One that I really want to know. Does my baby chicks love me? I recently got them 2 days ago. They were so cute and adorable. And those days, I got them outside to smell the fresh air and to my surprise they followed me wherever I go, but that only last a short time. And when I go to another room, they chirp loudly and every time I go to them, they stop chirping. I thought they were hungry so I fed them and went to a different room. But nope! They Chirp and Chirp and they stop when I came back. I then checked the temperature and it was fine but then I thought if they want a snuggle so I gently took all 4 of them in my arms and they fell asleep. So I then returned them to their home and after that they stop the loud chirping for awhile. So do they want attention? Or do they really like me?

I would like to say my chickens love me.....well atleast one of them does but to determine that i think you might want them to get older. My name on here come from what i named my prized EE and she like to come inside and lay on the couch with me while i pet her. So im sure they are capable of some kind of love or something close to it

Im new to this forum but i know a few things about chickens. Please dont get discouraged if the turn out to be jerks bc i have a few of them too. Breeds and genes have alot to do with the temperment of your birds

I would like to think my chickens love me, but I doubt they are capable of love, as we humans know it.

I know they love that I bring them food, I think they love me the way a kid loves an ice cream truck.

Some tolerate me more than others.

I have a turkey hen that sits in my lap and lets me pet and preen her. She acts like she loves me, but I think she actually just loves the grooming and the relaxing pets. She comes over to talk to me all the time, I assume she is actually begging for food or wanting to be groomed.

BUT in my mind it is love. I love her/them. And if you think or feel like you love them, go ahead say they love you, what's it going to hurt...

However, temper your love, know they are descended from dinosaurs and are mine T-rexes, if you fall down trip and cannot move and are bleeding, they will devour you....

I'm really excited for them to turn out great but their loud chirping is always waking me up. But they still are my babies even if they turn out like jerks. Thanks for answering my thread :) and I'll wait for them to grow. And I guess they want my food because every time I give them food they stop chirping loud but then they start loud chirps again. They must be really hungry babies :0
