I have 2 Swedish ducks and my girl is very feisty and sassy but likes to be held and petted. My male is very sweet too but doesn’t like to be touched. He will hang out right by me and isn’t afraid but will avoid being petted. I think they just have different personalities. They also are prey animals and will instinctively shy away unless you move slowly and crouch down.
