My white call duck Sugar seems to be getting wet unlike the rest of my flock that use their preen glands to help them not get wet. I’ve tried doing research on wet feathers which led me to look at her preen gland. I have attached photos. It looks normal to me besides the fact that there is so many feathers growing out of it. Is it normal to grow that many feathers out of it? It doesn’t look infected so I’m not sure what step I should take next to correct this wet feather issue but I am very worried because we are getting freezing temps here and I don’t want her feathers to turn into icicles!

i wish i had better advice, i havent dealt with wet feather very often, But the odd one ive had i would take away the pool and use buckets for water if i knew it was getting cold

Now i have read they can become impacted and warm compresses can help losen blockages, or even just warm baths in bath tubs

@Miss Lydia whats your experience?

I had 2 white Muscovy females that use to get wet feather. I can't see much yellow around your ducks oil gland can you since your there. A big molt took care of mines wet feather.
If your having freezing temps I don't think I'd let her get wet. Since she isn't water proof she can chill. What do you feed your Calls?
