I wrote before that I had to train my dog to leave my new kitten alone. Well, things are going much better then I had ever dreamed they would. The two play a lot together and my dog is very, very gentle with out cat. Sometimes they wake my husband and I up at night because they are tromping through our room!

I did not grow up with cats so I don't understand all of Ninjas behaviors. Today he was licking the inside of my dog's ears. Yuck. Is that a sign or affection or does my cat just like the taste of ear wax?

Also, he meows when the dog walks away from him. Is he upset that Keiba left?

Sometimes they sleep together also.

Awww, that is so sweet that they like each other so much. Yes the ear washing is from affection and yes the kitty may be upset that the dog is walking away from him.

Ear washing is a sign of affection, but, Earwax is a delicacy to kitties.

That makes me so happy. When my son first brought Ninja home, I had no idea if the two would ever get along. Keiba was used to chasing cats out of our yard and had taken a strong dislike to all cats. The new kitten was not exactly friendly to dogs. To me their friendship is almost miraculous

My Great Pyranees dog loves to cuddle with one of my cats, Niki. Niki seems to go to the dog when she wants affection and I'm not around. Some of the other cats act that way with the dog as well, others are more skittish.
