Does my pullet have a problem or is getting ready to lay?

My EE is acting strange.....sitting by herself acting gruff and moody. the EE rooster (same age 18 wks) tried to mount her today she wanted nothing to do with him. Could she be getting ready to lay or is it something else?? Hoping she isn't sick.

It sounds like she's getting ready to lay. Is she doing an egg squat when you go to pick her up?

Does she eat and drink fine? Is she pale?

she is eating and drinking, crop is large,,,,but has been for along time.a month....she's a piggie. Squat, I don't know about that, but has been sitting a lot and that's not normal for her.

AN egg squat is when the hen crouches down and sort of 'shakes' when you go to pick her up. If she is sitting on the nest, she is most likely gonna lay.
