We currently only have one hen and one rooster (slowly lost the rest of the flock over time and lost our 1 of 2 hens yesterday). Our only remaining hen is broody and sitting on eggs that we plan to have her hatch. In the meantime, my rooster is alone. Do i need to get more hens for him or will he be okay socially by himself until the new chicks hatch and the hen is back with him? He is the nicest rooster ive ever had or met and i dont want him to get depressed over the next 20ish days...

Not a great situation to be in. I'd hesitate to integrate any new hens right now if they have access to the broody hen. You may have problems even if they are separated when you try to reintegrate the hen and her chicks later. I've never been in that situation so I don't feel I have a lot of experience to fall back on but my gut feel is to not add any. If you add one I'd add at least two and preferably three so you are not soon in this situation again.

The member that I rely on most with his experience with low numbers and broody hens is @Shadrach I'd value his opinion.
