Locked the door to the coop at 9:00 last night, as always carefully check the coop for any snake, rodents, etc that might have entered it so looked in the nesting boxes, roof, walls, etc and all looked ok.
Today at 10 am I looked in the nesting boxes and brought out 3 eggs which we had for breakfast. At 4:00 pm I looked again in the nesting boxes and found 3 more eggs.
How can 5 pullets lay 6 eggs ?
There is no chance another chicken entered my property.

Pretty rare to get 2 intact eggs in one day.
My bet is one of those was laid late the day before and you missed it?

aart I would say that normally your bet would hold true but on that night my wife and one of my daughter’s accompanied me to the coop. Both are great artist and the one trait shared by great artist is the art of observation. They would have noticed the egg.

Even if it was buried in nest bedding?
Just a possibility......or maybe you have a super layer.

The nest beddings are not substancial as they push the bedding out.
Last week I found a baby possum inside the coop at night, it made me inspect the coop much more carefully before closing the door.
Am 100% sure that the egg was not there at night.
