Does size matter?

So I have a standard silver laced polish rooster. Any issues with breeding and hatching eggs from a silkie/sizzle hen? Can the chick be too big in the shell? Just starting to play with breeding. I’m used to sheep where you don’t want the ram too much bigger than the ewe. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I’d try incubating some of the eggs from her and see how it goes. If she is laying really small eggs the chick may not have enough room to develop if the father is particularly large.

Nope. I had a giant Naked Neck rooster breed with all my tiny bantam chickens, and I had a great hatch rate. Very healthy chicks.
