Does survival lessen after 21 days?

My son is incubating 9 chicken eggs, 1 hatched yesterday, and its doing great. How long should I let the rest of them incubate? Does the chance of survival lessen after day 21? Thank you so much, I have found this site and the advice absolutely wonderful.

I have been reading that you can wait as long as 25 days after that nothing will happen.

same as what i have been reading .. i have had some at day 23 .. but not much after that .. from my own learning .. but that dont mean the next person will be the same .

have they been candled are you sure there is something in there???

If they were all set at the same time, and they are in an incubator, 23-24 days is usually as long as I wait. If a hen is setting on them you often get late hatches due to other hens getting in there and laying eggs after she had begun to set.

I just had a day 26 Silkie Hatch -- It was a huge chick I mean huge even for silkie standards not sure it will make it but it did hatch ---I missed the egg on day 25 when i got rid of the rest---

wow i didnt even see that ,must be older than i thought i was
