Does the neighbor count as a pest?

Melgsix.... I maybe a little on the extreme side, but somebody like that would get under my skin A LOT!!!! And I know for a fact that the laws changed in Texas last year concerning protecting your home and property from thieves and trespassers. Quite simply, I would inform your neighbor that there have been problems on your property and you were going to implement the SSS method.

You're within your legal right to shoot 1st. That DumbA%$ should know that.

All you have to believe is that he is going to commit a felony in the commission of burglary, or threatening you, your livestock or family.

I think that many folks who complain about a rooster crowing are unaware that after a few days, you won't even hear it anymore. I love the sound, personally, but my neighbors indicated that it would irritate them from the moment I started building our coop. It's just easier to avoid those things that can be avoided. However, if they get another yappy dog, I might reconsider.

I think that the only problem people have on this board with rooster crows is that some have to worry that their neighbors will complain. I haven't read any posts on this forum with the actual chicken owner not liking the sound of a rooster crow. Many on this board live in close proximity to neighbors and have to worry that the neighbors are disturbed. Everybody that has chickens or is interested in them does belong on this board even if they don't have or want roosters.

My doggie's home!!!

We picked her up about an hour ago. She has survived but will be on meds for a while. She is very happy to be home and is fallowing me around everywhere. I love my Lady Bug

I'm so happy your dog made it, and sorry your little pup didn't.

We have a few nebbish older neighbors up the street a few houses and they are the worst pain in the tush. But NOTHING downright evil like yours. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this creep.

I hope with all my heart that you are able to get him on camera and can file harrassment charges against him. And do get the best lawyer for harrassment you can find. He may be able advise you about rights and get you some relief against this horrid man.

We had some problem with a neighbor last summer. he was coming in our yard and stealing copper pipe. My hubby is a plumber, so it is here on our property. We never caught him red handed but another neighbor saw him, from his window during earlier morning hours. So that same morning my hubby made a lovely sign to put in the yard. It reads " Homeowner is crazy Try not to piss him off" Of course the noisy crazy grandmother of the boy didn't like the sign so she called the sheriff out. All they did was laugh, We haven't had any problems since. of course it doesn't hurt that my hubby is 6'3' and 250 lbs either.

PS~ I am sorry you have lost your sweet baby pup over this. That would have been the straw, Let's put it this way my butt would be out of jail before he was out of the hospital.

I am sorry that you have been having so many problems with your neighbor and that you lost your puppy that is sad, I know how it is when we lived in the city we had lost a puppy he was fine when we let him out in the back yard that morning and when we were getting ready to go to my sons bday party he was not himself , we brought him in put food and water in his kennel and I knew he had to be poisoned and there was only 1 neighbor that could throw anything into the backyard (actually both sides could but the lady to the other side was like 90 years old and never left her house, so doubt it was her) and by the time we came home, he had died. soon after that, we moved out and came to the country, but we have bad neighbors here also.
Soon after we moved in we started getting notes from a neighbor (which we knew who it was since all the neighbors here have had some form of harrassment from him, even my inlaws that live next door) The notes complained about our dogs that were barking "ALL the TIME", and that we rode our 4 wheelers and other equipment for hours at a time (what else do we do, its the country, I live on 2 acres and my inlaws have almost 6 acres, plus we have access to the wooded area behind our property that another neighbor owns) then it escualted from there, he started putting glass in our driveway, we called the cops and they could not do anything about it since we had not seen it, then a few months later it happened again, but this time I saw him stopped infront of our driveway, did not actually see him throw anything down, but when I got back up later there was glass in the driveway again... so we called the cops and they at least went back and spook to him, have not had any issue with him since, but knowing him it will be just a matter of time.

Since the dog died I haven't heard a peep from the neighbor. He hasn't tried to talk to me or even called the city on me. I just wonder if someone said something to him. I haven't been quiet about my suspicions and talk about him very loudly in the front yard so I know he knows that we know it was him causing all the trouble.

Wow, people like that drive me mad!! I'm so sorry you lost your pup.

People like this really need to get a life, and use all that energy to contribute instead of complain and harass!

My vote is for the camera and prosecute. It's really expensive though, and what my aunt and uncle did one time was get a broken camera and have it set up when a neighbor's crazy son was vandalizing their place. Then they mentioned to the neighbor about it, and the willingness to prosecute. No more problems!
