My Aunt Gail said that the pointed eggs are roos and the rounded eggs are hen!!!!! I said: Aunt Gail I don't think so...,but I don't think she want to hear what I have to say. Any one else ever heard of such a thing? Oh yea, I have another thing to ask about...when putting fertile eggs in the carton to store for the bator...which end of the egg is to be on top. I always put the rounded end. Aunt Gail said I was wrong again. Who is right or does it matter? I would appreciate any input. Thanks DJ

Absolutely NOT. I tried this about 4 years ago. Set only the roundest eggs. Some were so round I had to candle to see which end had the air cell.

68% roosters hatched.

If you think about it doesn't make any since anyway. Once a hen gets going good in a laying cycle they will lay about the same kind of egg in shape. There is no way that one particular hen is going to laying eggs that will only hatch Girls. That hen would be worth a good deal of money.

Store eggs pointed end down.

I read somewhere this guy swears by the shape of the eggs tell him what sex its going to be and he claims hes never been wrong. So I have heard it before. Not sure how true it is.

Oh yeah, my breeder gave me 18 that she "thinks" are hens based on the shape of the egg. She says she's been right about 90% of the time lately. We shall see. She also agreed that she'd trade me for hens if any of them came out roos so I think it is a pretty good deal.

Speckled hen..that was one of the points I tried to make to aunt gail. She wanted me to explore the internet and ask this question on this forum. I love my aunt Gail, but she gets something on her mind and that is just the way it is. I really appreciate all of the input and I will tell Aunt Gail everything that was written. Thanks!!
