Does the temp in a incubator decide if they will hatch early or late

Plz help I'm really new to hatching chickens and I'm hatching Rhode Island reds and white leghorns and I heard somewhere that if the temp is to hot or cold it will determine when they will hatch

That is correct. Hotter is sooner and cooler is later, but they both have drawbacks and can result in a lower hatch rate.
