Does this chick need help?!?!?!

Yay! Another success story! I wish everyone helped their chicks out like you did.................too many people assume the chicks will be deformed or unhealthy if they aren't hatching correctly. Not so, some of my best birds were help-outs :love 🐄

:thumbsup Well done! Let us see how she looks when dried up and fluffy.
Here she is with some of her friends in the brooder. There are a couple more drying off in the incubator and one which is pipped but is waiting to zip . He/she seems to be taking their time, making me wait anxiously :jumpy :)

This chick has been pipped since the morning which is around 15 hours. It has been making progress but very very slowly, it occasionally rocks and peeps but is getting played around with by a hatched chick. Do you think it will be okay?
thanks

That is great. Was this the last one or do you expect some more?
That’s the last one for this hatch. Got 10/11 for shipped Orpington eggs and 1/2 for the eggs from my own flock. I think that was because one of them was a pullet egg and wasn’t as big as the other eggs. I did an eggtopsy which showed that the chick was fully developed, it had almost absorbed the yolk but wasn’t in the correct hatching position. šŸ˜€

Yes, I think so too. When the egg is too small for the size of the chicken they will not be able to position themselves correctly.
