Squeaky was looking relatively peppy after her last amoxicillin yesterday, and I let her out of the pen to do her free bird thing.
Today she doesn't look so good, she's moving super slow.
I understand that this is the I-think-I'm-about-to-lay-an-egg stance, right?

So sorry... I'm afraid that looks more like I'm really sick than I'm gonna lay an egg. I'm no expert, but I'm afraid she doesn't have much time left. What I have noticed is sometimes they have a few good days right before death. Not saying that's what you're seeing, but it is a possibility.

Poor girl it has to be terrible for her, her bottom must feel real heavy

Well, her vet says she may have more fluid buildup, and I can take her in to get tapped again.
But the vet said there's no way to know if things would settle down after that, or if the fluid would return.
I'm not sure if it's better to just leave her alone than to put her through the trauma of going to the vet and getting tapped again (it's a one hour drive each way)...

The vet could look at the fluid microscopically and check for infection and perhaps switch antibiotics to something like Clavamox (Augmentin) or Baytril. When she tapped her last, what color was the fluid?

Just wanted to give you guys the Squeaky update:

I had an appointment today to take her in to get fluid tapped again. This morning she sounded so terrible, she was really gurgling when she breathed.

I took her in and it turned out that she hardly had any fluid in there, but it was in an air sac, and that's why she was having trouble breathing. The vet said that because of the egg pressure and the previous fluid pressure, her ventilation system is messed up - she had actually ruptured an air sac. So the fluid got tapped, and she got a shot of Baytril, and the vet said she actually is looking good - hard to believe!

She's back roaming around now, and we'll see how she does...
