Does this seem like a good coop?

Checkout carpenters coops on FB. Near Columbus. Love my lil tractor they made for My 3 hens, but they have larger, too.

Thanks for the recommendation. The coops do look great, but I'm worried they're out of my price range :( Do you mind sharing a picture, and what you paid? I couldn't find much on pricing on their fb page.

Thank you everyone! I didn't even think about how difficult that would be to clean. I will definitely pass on this one. Does this one look better? It has a pull out tray, and some ventilation. http://cleveland.craigslist.org/grd/4536516848.html

This is a big improvement over the first one, at least it address' most of the concerns that were raised. It has hardware cloth, a clean out tray and a run that a person could get into if necessary as well as at least one ventilation port. I am betting though that it is really smaller then the impression the picture gives you, hard to tell from just dimensions, the whole thing is only about 7 ft long x just over 2 ft wide. That probably makes the coop maybe 3ft x2ft. Excluding the nest boxes, that is only about 6sq ft. I wouldn't put more than 2 birds into that small an area. I would keep looking, I doubt you ( or the chickens) would be happy with this in the long run. This site has tons of ideas, draw up some plans and think about looking for a local teenage boy who might build something for you for not too much. Look on Craig's list for garden or storage sheds that someone is looking to sell, lots of possibilities with those. Good luck, I know it is frustrating to not get rave reviews on what you find but better to know the drawbacks before you spend your hard earned money then after.:)

Thanks for all your input! It seems like building may be my best option if I don't want to spend a ton. Let's just hope I can find someone willing :P

Am I getting closer with this one? Lol http://mansfield.craigslist.org/grd/4656478464.html It seems like it has all the requirements.

Now you are getting some where! Adequate room for several chickens, light, ventilation. Replace the cheap chicken wire with some hardware cloth and that would be a very usable coop. Of course you would still need to create a run to go with it but that is definitely a cute little coop!
