Does timed feeding help tame a pigeon?

Does timed feeding help tame a pigeon? Or should you leave food available all the time?

Timed feeding will definitely eliminate food waste. I feed my pigeons just a bit more than they can eat in a single day, so that there is still a small amount left in the feeder the next morning if someone didn’t get enough the morning/evening before.

If I left the feeder completely full they would just pick out the seeds they like and waste (fling it out of the feeder and eventually poop on it) the rest, knowing there was more food left. This happens when I go away for a weekend or something and I fill the feeder up, they end up wasting like 1/3 of the feed.

Hand feeding, especially a high value food like peanuts or sunflower seed hearts, helps significantly with taming
