I got 7 chicks from TSC in one straight run bin were white chicks and red chicks. I grabbed some reds and one white.

The little white one is huge. bigger and way wider then chicks I hatched about 1 1/2 weeks older. and it just looks different! when I got home the chick was limping but its better now.. now it just wattles!!

I know some do carry Cornish crosses. The one we went to in the next town over had several bins with Cornish crosses. The Cornish in all the bins looked pretty rough, barely feathered, much larger than the other chicks in the other bins and white. Well there was one with the spraddle leg in another bin marked asst pullets. It was a yellow fluffy chunk, with just the starting of white wing feathers. I snagged it and took it home, just cause I figured noone else would buy it like that. It is much larger and heavier than my other LF chicks around the same age. Is it possible I just found the one healthier Cornish? Mine is much yellower than your chicks though. It is walking around better now, so I might just take it to auction next week. I couldn't bring myself to have to kill it after saving it like that.

I think I got 4 of the same type of reddish brown chicks too. The box they had in the bin with them said Lt Brahma, Buff Brahma and Black Sex Links. Brahmas should have feathered legs, but mine don't either. They are definitely feathering in like Buff Brahmas...not like Red Sex Links, RIRs or any other red variety. I have been trying to figure out what I have also.

RIRs don't feather in buff though. They feather in with that weird wing pattern and then turn red. These chicks are feathering in like Buff Brahma chicks minus the feathered legs...at least mine are that way. The wings on CrazyCatNChickenLadys red chick look the same as mine so far.

Now that I think about it, the box in the bin I got my 4 odd chicks from had one lable that said Buff Brahma-Red. Do you think a hatchery would sell a cross like that?

i'd say the white 1 looks like a cornish and the 2nd "red" could be a red sex link or rir, but usually the rir have barring in the wings atleast the few i have had did.
