cockerel means a male chicken younger than 1 yr old. After 1 yr they are officially 'roosters'
My black australorp roo ('Q') has white tips on the very ends of his wing feathers on the tip of the wing. When he has his wings folded, you can't see it at all, but when he extends his wings you can just barely see a white tip on both wings. Wonder if it's the same type markings, just a bit more of it, and more obvious because of the frizzle...
