Does your chicken roost in the same spot?

I think it would be very interesting for people here to tell the approximate ages of their birds/flock. I'd like to know if the posters with the older birds are the one's saying, "yes my birds all have their own spots" and the younger birds/flocks are still the ones with posters saying, "they move around a lot".

Well, ours our 7 months and 4 months. Once they discovered the roost, they always wanted to sleep on it. Every once in a while, I will find them all in a pile under the heat lamp or once will sleep alone inside the nesting box.

My flock will be 4 years old in April. The ones moving around some are on the bottom of the pecking order. I also have roosts near a screened window that is only open during the summer. Some hens use that roost then, however during the winter it is only used once or twice a week.

Just a curiousity question. I've noticed that when I go out in the evening to close the door on the coop, my rooster and 3 hens(right next to the roo) are in the same spot every night. For the other 18 it is first come first serve. Does anyone else notice this behavior with their flock?
I’ve noticed the same & very pleased! I only have 3, but I have 1 Barred Rock, who likes to pick (peck) at my sweet Rhode Is. Red, and luckily, she’s usually the 1st one to bed, then my Lavender Orpington in the middle which blocks the Barred Rock from pecking at her.
One night I fouled up their sleeping order by putting one hen in the roost myself & the Red ended up being next to the Barred Rock & she went for her like a Jack hammer, & being on the roost & nightime, there was no escape. I reached in, knocked her down, then she hopped back up in her right spot.
Did you get any other sleeping formation results?

My 3, listed above ⤴️ are 8 & 9 mo. old.
The Barred Rock (top of the pecking order) is 9 mo. The Lavender Orpington is 9 mo. also. They were raised together from the feed store, so get along fine. The Red, I got 1 month later, so the Barred Rock picks on her if she happens to roost next to her. I think that only happened once, because I interfered putting them to bed one night. They have it all worked out now. 🤗
