Does your dog eat chicken poo ?!?!

Mine eats it and gets sick every chance it gets. It shouldn't hurt him but if he has a tender tummy like mine. There is allot of getting sick involved.

Yes! My Chihuahua loves it! There was recently another thread where several people mentioned that their dogs love to eat chicken poop. My nasty little Chi will even eat his own poop. I have to monitor him very closely when we go outside.

All dogs eat poop, any kind of poop. Their favorite was cat carmels, until I got chickens! They are carion eaters, so it's natural for them. Just like it's natural for them to dig in the garbage.

One of my aussies has a sensetive stomach and would gorge himself on the duck pellets, then would urp it up throughout the house.

Now I store it out in the barn and he can't get to it.

Yeah, my dogs will eat pooh, too. I buy powder that goes in their food to stop it. They kept giving each other worms. I'd worm 'em all, the next think I'd know, they'd all have worms again from the 'all natural' treats in the lawn, reingesting them.

Our chickens are located in the dogs' area, but it is heavily fenced off from the dogs. Anything that falls out of the doors, though, the dogs grab up like its candy.

The chicken droppings are raked up and put out into the compost pile outside the dogs' fenced in area, or they'd probably roll in it too. Our Sammy, a rescue dog, is either a mixed spaniel or a poorly bred American foxhound and either way, she is the worst of the lot where eating pooh or rolling in it is concerned. She's pretty but she is a total knucklehead. I've not noticed her getting sick from it, but she might if she's also eating the wood litter with the chicken poop.

I thought my sisters German Shepherd was weird when I saw her eating chicken poo. Told my sister I've never had a dog that would touch the nasty stuff. My dogs must have been weird, they never ate it or rolled in it. Let them find a nice rotten deer carcass in the woods though and that was another story! I don't know which is worse, dead animal or poo? I think maybe the dead animal.
