Petunia laid two eggs two weeks ago and then stopped. She never set them and I ended up throwing them out. Over the past five days she has laid three eggs. She laid them three days in a row and now for the past two days she hasn't laid any. She does not seem to be planning on sitting these. I thought ducks laid bigger clutches anyway. Should I take these eggs and try to put them under a broody, or do you think she will go back to laying and eventually sit?

Ive been told that Pekins have pretty much had the broodiness bred out of them due to the breed being the primary commercial meat duck breed. My Pekin, Big Rhonda, did however sit on her eggs for about 2 wks, then just abandoned them. It was as if she got tired of it. She hasnt tried it again since.
