even though all our chickens lay, i decide whether they are "males" or "females" by their personality.the girl in my avatar is nice and always wants to picked up, but i have another chicken who i consider a boy (HE lays lol) because he looks kinda mean in the face and pecks me when im not looking.

Oh thanks you guys! You're so nice to compliment Attila. She's a blue birchen marans. I confess that I think she's pretty gorgeous too. Her egg color has been very disappointing though--my production red lays darker eggs.
