The starches were to replace rice and corn in dog food and all the processed stuff in regular bagged dog food...

He does not need them, and they are feeding the problem. Seriously, do a trail of four weeks of SPECIES APPROPRIATE diet (follow rawfed.com) and you will see a difference.

Hi there,

What a sweet looking pup you have there. I haven't read through the entire thread, but have you heard of N-zymes? The company has several products but I think their claim to fame is their allergy treatments, specifically yeast issues. I haven't tried their allergy stuff, so I don't know if it really works. Their success stories are really amazing though, so maybe it's worth a try. Here's the link: http://www.nzymes.com/store/pc/index.asp

Good
luck!

So far so good-not once has he ithched-scratched-chewed etc...it is SOOOO nice not to hear or see those noises and battle wounds....His skin is already looking better- Unreal....He has put on more weight with his diet-fat plumper-so I have stepped up his 3 wALKS A day to 5

Hi Sonew, I've only just skimmed the 11 or so pages of responses to your original post, so I apologize if I am being redundant. I was skimming with a specific question in mind...did you say what the vomit is/was like? Was it clear, and mucus-y, like egg whites? Because I happen to have a Bichon-Pomeranian mix who decided at seven years of age, to become profoundly diabetic. Maizy, too, began (suddenly) to lose it from both ends; diarrhea and an amazing amount of this loose, whitish, mucus-y vomit. Nothing would stay down. She was so lethargic, she was limp. And the solution to her mystery was diabetes.
Your pup's varying reactions to different foods could actually be, not a food allergy, but a keto-dietetic imbalance. I think the question is easily answered with a blood-glucose test. It took Maizy from Halloween to Valentine's Day to get her numbers in balance, but that was just over a year ago now, and she is better than new.
Wishing you all the best......

Hey MM

his vomit was nothing but pure food...grain free sog kibbles and the mucus -bleah..he hasnt done it since I stopped the medication that caused him to do so:( He never had a reaction to any food whatsoever....it was all the meds..no meds no issues now:)

I think most commercial pet foods have eggs in them, so if he tested positive to eggs, that could be the culprit right there!

If your dog is not allergic to anything, but has horrible skin issues and they DON"T get better using medication...it's NOT a medical issue, it's a nutritional deficiency. Can't resolve that with medications.

And then putting him on steroids (an immune suppressant) and antibiotics kills the good stuff in his digestive tract so there's nothing to fight the yeast that naturally resides there...so then there's a yeast overgrowth. Here are a few good articles:
Stop the Itch>Vet>Steroid Cycle
Yikes It's Yeast
What if it's NOT Allergies After All?

Meaty food, no carbs (especially if your dog is not super active), live enzymes/probiotics/vitamins, minerals, omega fatty acids. Get RID of the medications (aren't working anyway...and can have an adverse effect on the immune system and overall health), get RID of the chemical laden shampoos, treats, creams, sprays. Give your dog a chance to recover.

This is something I am passionate about! And, something that I work with every single day, with thousands of people.

You might want to try Natures Variety, Instinct. it is raw frozen, grain free. I have been feeding the rabbit to my cat for a few years because she gets sores on her tummy from allergies. Rabbit is supposed to be the least allergic of all the meats from my research. It does have some veggi's and fruits, and other stuff, but if you want PURE MEAT and don't want to go raw, the canned version and EVO are just meat. There are a few that are just the meat. You might try that. I am sure he would be happy about it
